The Manser Practice was approached by Westcourt Real Estate to develop a mixed-use scheme at Enderby Wharf in Greenwich, centred on the design of London’s first international cruise terminal.
Our proposal has evolved from an in-depth feasibility study and extensive consultation with the cruise industry, the Royal Borough of Greenwich Planning Department and CABE design review panel, the Greater London Authority, Border Control and the Metropolitan Police.
The final design consists of 263 new residential units, arranged in two slender towers, above a purpose built cruise terminal and associated drop-off zone. The terminal roof has been designed to be publically accessible from the Thames path, creating elevated gardens that enjoy views towards Canary Wharf and historic Greenwich.
Care was taken to optimise site capacity by creating a commercially viable scheme that promotes the public use of the river and provides a new landmark for the new international transport hub.
