The Atlantic Hotel occupies a stunning cliff top position in Jersey. The 1960s building, whilst structurally sound, no longer provided adequate guest facilities. Bedrooms and bathrooms were too small, servicing was outdated and the building looked tired.
Working with the client team we devised a strategy and design for a phased, but complete overhaul and external extension to the hotel. After obtaining planning permission the first two phases were implemented over a three year programme maintaining summer opening for the hotel throughout.
The Manser Practice had an established working relationship with local architects Naish Waddington and worked closely with them to ensure that each phase was accomplished to tight budgets and programme.
The hotel has a fresh new appearance inside and out. Externally the new white rendered treatment has given the hotel a presence which is both modern and timeless and which will give the hotel the right appearance for many years to come.
